The Reframe Begins Here

Being a woman in tech in my forties has meant learning how to hold contradictions. You can be experienced and still questioned, trusted with responsibility while being quietly edged out of influence. I spent years working deep in people data while also helping design and scale inclusion programs meant to widen access, particularly for women and underrepresented talent. Long before I could fully quantify it, I sensed that something in the system was misaligned. That instinct was later confirmed by what the data showed across the industry. Women over forty leave technical and leadership roles at higher rates than their male peers, often without a comparable drop in performance or impact. What felt personal was structural, and I was far from alone.

That clarity changed how I understood my own experience and what to do with it. I began to see that many women carrying decades of experience were encountering the same quiet shift. After years of building skill, judgment, and credibility, opportunities narrowed, influence softened, and questions surfaced that had never been asked before. This community grew out of that recognition. I started to envision inclusion that is shaped by the understanding that experience does not disappear simply because systems stop recognizing it, and insight that only deepens when it is shared rather than carried in isolation.

Many of us are also standing at the edge of a broader shift. Traditional career arcs are loosening, and more people are choosing independent, portfolio-based paths or creating work that reflects how they actually want to live and learn. The skills we built earlier are not being left behind; they are being repurposed. This space exists to think through that transition with clarity, drawing on experience while staying open to what comes next.

This community exists because women with lived experience have more to offer than resilience alone. Here, experience no longer needs to be defended or translated. It becomes shared language, perspective, and context for better decisions. Learning moves in both directions, and validation emerges when individual stories align into something recognizable and shared. Just as importantly, being together interrupts the tendency to internalize systemic mismatch as personal failure. This collective is grounded in both courage and openness: the courage to embody what we want to see, and the openness to be shaped by new perspectives, new knowledge, and spaces that invite us to grow beyond what we thought was possible.

So welcome to The Reframed Collective. My hope is that you find something here that meets you where you are and supports where you want to go.
